Rules Training

The Administrative Law Division provides two on-line courses: New Mexico State Rules and Rulemaking: An Introduction and NMAC Advanced Training for Rule Filers.

The introductory course provides a basic overview of what rules are, who can issue them, how they are created, and where they can be found. Although the course is designed for state employees, anyone interested in state rules is welcome to enroll. The advanced course covers the specific details of writing and formatting rules.

Both courses are free of charge and can be taken all at once or broken up into smaller units depending on the time availability of each student. The courses are available 24 hours a day and can be accessed by any computer that has an internet connection.

With current state budget reductions, the on-line training provides a perfect and economical means for state employees to receive training on rules and rulemaking. Travel and personnel costs associated with face-to-face training are reduced.

To enroll in the on-line rules training, an individual simply needs to send an email request to: staterules@state.nm.us The email request should provide contact information including:

    Student Name
    Email Address
    Course Title(s)

The person enrolling in the course will receive an acknowledgement via email that will supply a username, password, and instructions on how to log into the SRCA On-line Training Center.
