Scholarships

Applicant Requirements:

  • A New Mexico Historical Records Advisory Board (NMHRAB) Scholarship Application must be completed in its entirety. [MS Word Version] [Adobe Acrobat (pdf version)]
  • To qualify the applicant must be employed by, or volunteer for, an eligible entity. Eligible entities include government agencies, tribal repositories, and non-profit organizations.
  • The applicant must provide a letter stating how the applicant and sponsoring organization will benefit from requested trainings.
  • The sponsoring organization must provide a letter of support on behalf of the applicant.
  • The NMHRAB scholarship will cover the cost of registration and up to 80% of travel and per diem costs for in-state or out-of-state training. (Travel/per diem are based on New Mexico State Per Diem and Mileage Act*). Funds are paid to the recipient in the form of reimbursement with proper documentation.
    *State Per Diem and Mileage: Travel to Santa Fe $135/day. All other NM cities $85/day. Mileage is to total 0.32/map mile.

The NMHRAB Scholarship:

  • For a list of State Records Center and Archives courses see Training at www.nmcpr.state.nm.us. Return application to the NMHRAB office deadline provided in Call for Proposals. Please refer to NMHRAB Grant Program and Scholarship Calendar for established deadlines.
  • The NMHRAB will award grants to successful applicants up to the annual cap. Should additional funds become available, the Board may award grants to those who met the criteria but were not funded because of cap limits; or may issue a subsequent call of applications.

Review Process:

  • Applicants will be screened for eligibility by the NMHRAB Grants Administrator.
  • The NMHRAB Scholarship committee will award scholarships up to $1,500. The Committee shall notify the full NMHRAB of the results at it’s next regular meeting.


Post Award Requirements:

  • Scholarship recipients will submit to the Grants Administrator proof of training attendance and registration match (copy of Certificate of Completion, registration form marked as paid and copy of check for payment.).
