Training Description

**FREE to high school and college students** This session will include information regarding the general topic of African American genealogy; providing a historical overview; leading participants through a discussion of what resources and records are available, and where to find them; and how to effectively use online digital genealogy resources. Presenter Ruth Randall, a nationally known certified genealogist, has made her life’s work the reconstruction of the lives of former slaves and tracing those roots for their descendants. She specializes in 19th and 20th century genealogy, especially in the areas of Georgia, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
